Philosophy/Goals

Philosophy

Athletics play an integral role in providing a student with a comprehensive and well-balanced education.  The specific lessons and values obtained through participation in athletics augment the solid foundation that students acquire daily within their classrooms.  The athletic department fosters and promotes such values as sportsmanship, teamwork, dedication, self-discipline and the sacrifice of one's personal gain for that of a team.  These values along with an active understanding of how to deal with success and persevere through adversity are lessons one can carry for a lifetime.  It is truly the amount and quality of effort, teamwork and sportsmanship that an individual or team displays during competition that determines athletic success.
