Mathematics Department

The Mathematics Department provides students a myriad of ways to meet their graduation requirement by following a traditional mathematics path (Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, etc.) or by selecting mathematics courses which fit their math skills (Introduction to Algebra, Consumer Math, etc.).

The faculty of the Mathematics Department strives to assist every student to develop a understanding of basic math concepts,  become fluent in algebra and geometry, and develop competence in mathematical equations and procedures.

All incoming students must take a math placement test.  This test will determine placement in math courses; students may be exempted from Algebra I or Geometry based on these results.

As part of the Saint Lawrence Academy graduation requirements, all students must have either taken a one-semester computer class or passed a computer challenge test.  This test is given each spring for incoming freshmen and/or current students.
